  \frac{ - 5}{8} = \frac{ - 5}{ {2}^{3} } \\ multiply \: {5}^{3} to \: both \: numerator \: and \: \\ denominator \\ \frac{ - 5}{8} = \frac{ - 5}{ {2}^{3} } \times \frac{ {5}^{3} }{ {5}^{3} } \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = \frac{ - 625}{ {10}^{3} } \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = \frac{ - 625}{1000} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = - 0.625 \\ \frac{ - 6}{5} = \frac{ - 6}{ {5}^{1} } \\ multiply \: 2 \: to \: both \: numerator \: and \: \\ denominator \\ \frac{ - 6}{5} = \frac{ - 6}{5} \times \frac{2}{2} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = \frac{ - 12}{10} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = - 1.2

-5/8 = -0.625

-6/5 = -1.2

So, -5/8 and -6/5 are not equal.
