Answer:

let the breadth of the rectangle be x

, therefore, the length will be 2x

the perimeter of a rectangle =2(l+b)

60=2(2x+x)

60÷2=2x+x

30=3x

30÷3=x

x=10cm

therefore length =2x=2(10)= 20cm

GIVEN

The length of a rectangle is twice of its breadth.If its perimeter is 60cm

TO FIND

Find length of rectangle

SOLUTION

Let the breadth be x then its length be 2x

According to the given condition

Perimeter of rectangle = 60m

→ 2(length + breadth) = 60

→ 2(2x + x) = 60

→ 2*3x = 60

→ 6x = 60

→ x = 60/6 = 10

Hence,

Breadth of rectangle = x = 10m

Length of rectangle = 2x = 2*10 = 20m
