sure they are animals and plants contains enzymes in them which work at only optimum conditions so a slight pH change might slow down or speed up an entire life process resulting in many changes throughout a body which might lead to failure of all the organs and eventually death

Hey Mate

Our Body works efficiently within pH range of 7.0 to 7.8. Therefore living organisms can survive only in the pH range.

For eg :- In an industrial area pH of rain water becomes less due to dissolution of some acidic gases, such as Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide etc.

If the pH of rain water is less then 5.6, it is called Acid rain. When this acid rain flows into the river it lowers the pH of the river water and kills most of the aquatic life.

Therefore, the aquatic life in such rivers becomes difficult to survive.
