IN PRODUCTS SIDE......

Anonymous: K and tell me are reducing agent and reduced agent the same?
BRAINLYY: no, reducing agents reduce the reactants and oxidises themselves
BRAINLYY: whereas reduced product is reduced by reducing agent or we can say it oxidises reducing agent
BRAINLYY: Its simple reducing agent becomes oxidised product and oxidising agent becomes reduced product after reaction

Heya,

Substance reduced; substance oxidised; reducing agent and oxidising are always the reactants and not the products.

For example:-

MnO₂ + 4 HCl ------> MnCl₂ + Cl₂ + 2H₂O

In this equation;

Substance oxidised:- Hcl because Hydrogen is being removed from it.

Substance reduced:- MnO₂ because Oxygen is being removed from it.

Oxidising agent:- MnO₂ because it gives out oxygen for oxidation.

Reducing agent:- Hcl because it gives out hydrogen for reduction.
