Regular hexagon :-
1. All sides are equal
2. Can be divided into 6 equilateral triangles.
3. so area is equal to area of 6 equilateral triangles.

one side of a single equilateral triangle = 48/6 = 8 inches

since it is equilateral all other sides of trianglesare also 8 inches.

Area of an equilateral triangle =
 \sqrt{3 } {s}^{2} \div 4
so, area of single equilateral triangle = 16√3 SQUARE INCHES

Area of all triangles = Area of hexagon = 6*16√3 = 96√3 SQUARE INCHES.
