BD2 = (2√2)2 + (2√2)2

BD2 = 16

BD = 4 cm

∴ Radius of circle = 2 cm

∴ Shaded area = Area of circle – Area of square

= 3.14 × 22 − (2√2)2

= 12.56 – 8

= 4.56 cm2
