2.The area of a trapezium is 594 sq. cm. The lengths of its parallel sides are in the ratio 4 : 5. The height of the trapezium is 12cm.Find the lengths ofthe parallel sides.

3.The area of a trapezium is 900 sq. cm. The distance between the parallel sides is 24 cm. If one of the parallel sides is double the other, find the length of the two parallelsides.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the 2 parallel sides be a and b, and the distance between the parallel sides be h.

a = 20 cm

b = 14 cm

h = 10 cm

Use formula,

Area of trapezium = 1 / 2 × (a + b) × h

Put in the values,

Area = 1 / 2 × (20 + 14) × 10

       = 34 × 5

       = 170 cm²

Ans: The area of the trapezium is 170 cm².
