Let one number be x , then, another number = x+6( since the other number is 6 greater than the first)

Now, given that :

x + x + 6 = 36

Solving the given equation :

 \implies \: x + x + 6 = 36

 \implies2x + 6 = 36

 \implies2x = 36 - 6 = 30

  \implies x = \frac{30}{2} = 15

Now we know, x = 15

Therefore, the greater number = x + 6 = 21

Verification :

x + (x + 6) = 36

15 + (15 + 6) = 36

15 + 21 = 36

Hence verified ✔️
