Let distance between ship frst from the tower be x and the distance between two ships be y
Triangle ABC
AB /BC=tan 45
=100/x=1
=x=100
Now Triangle ABD
AB /BD=Tan 30
100/x+y=1/1.73
=x+y=100×1.73
X=100
100+y=100×1.73
=y = 100×1.73-100
Y=100 (1.73-1)
=100×0.73
Y=73
hence the distance between two ships is 73m
