Iron is very good conductor of electricity hence it can expand and contract on heating and cooling respectively.

In case of our body the temperature increases to fight against bacteria and even kill some of them with the high temperature.

This is mainly done by the central nervous system which signals the body to fight against the foreign microbes.

Even if the temperature of the skin increased the body would not expand as it is a bad conductor of heat.
