This is an ASL prompt for speaking task 3.
You can say the following lines or something similar in your discussion for the
prompt:
Candidate A: I feel I must do something for those less privileged people who walk a long distance to fetch water for their daily needs.
Candidate B: Why? Do these people not have water facility in their houses?
Candidate A: No, actually they live in makeshift houses made of wooden boards, tarpaulin, thatch, etc. Even the land they live on is not theirs. They are extremely poor! I feel sorry for their plight and really want to do something for them.
Candidate B: What can you do for them? There are thousands of such people living in different parts of our city!
Candidate A: I have a few ideas, which if executed, can solve their water problem. I will ask my dad to help me. Until a permanent water supply provision is made for these people, we can write to the councilor to make arrangement for a water tanker for these people. A mobile tanker of water can daily be sent to the colony of these people.
Candidate B: What a bright idea! I can help you in this. The councilor is my father's friend. During elections, my father lends all type of assistance to him. He will surely act upon our request instantaneously.
Candidate A: Thanks. You see, when we really want to do something noble, all ways open on their own!
Candidate B: You are right. But what will be a permanent solution to their problem?
Candidate A: I have thought about it. I will write a letter to the Mayor appealing to build a fixed Municipal Water Supplying unit near the colony of these people. This will solve the water shortage problem of the area as well.
Candidate B: Wow! You are a real genius. I am sure the water problem of these people is about to be solved. They will really bless you!
