Work done by centripetal force in moving a body along a circle is zero . Because force acting always perpendicular to displacement.

Work Done = F . d = F × d × cos(α)

where,

F = Force vector, F = magnitude of Force vector

d = Displacement vector ,

d = magnitude of displacement vector

If angle between F and d is 90 degree

then cos(α) = 0 , work done = 0
