Assumed Mean Method

First, find d

di=xi-a

a=the frequency which is in the middle

Example:-

1,2,3,4,5 are some frequencies

Then, a=3

If 1,2,3,4 are frequencies

Then a=2 or 3(you can choose any 1 if the number of frequencies is even)

Then, find sum of fi(di) and sum of fi separately.

Then, find d bar(mean of d)=sum of fi(di)/sum of fi

Then finally find x bar(mean of x)=a+d bar

You will get the answer.
