According the question, we have to find out  the angle between the hour hand and minute hand at 8.35 am.

Here we will use the formula of FINDING Angle between Minute Hand and Hour Hand at time H:M (means, H =hour, M =minutes)

Angle = 30h - (11/2)m [when hour hand is ahead of minute hand],

here the position of hands are consider from the number 12 on clock.

At 8:35, the hour hand is ahead of minute hand,

Hence we will put put H = 8 and M = 35 in

Angle = 30h - (11/2)m = 30 x 8 - (11/2) x 35 = 240 - 192.5 = 47.5°
