At an election between two candidates ,68votes were declared invalid.the winning candidate secures 52% of the valid votes and wins by 354votes.Find the total number of votes polled.

Winner = 52% of valid votes

Loser = 48% of valid votes

(52-48)% =4 % =354

1% = 354/4

100 % = 35400/4 = 8850

No of valid votes = 8850

Invalid votes = 68

Total votes polled = 8850 + 68 = 8918
