Answer: A Agenda 21 was the major document to be formed in the Rio Earth Summit of 1992.

It aimed at sustainable development of the overall economy of the world through judicious use of resources.

One of the major disappointments in the Earth Summit was the failure to arrive at a consensus regarding the regulation of carbon dioxide emissions by the developed countries, most importantly, the United States of America.

USA failed to give accurate dates and timeline for controlling CO2 emissions and remained silent about the same.

Even though it was expected that the Earth Charter - which was framed five years ago - would be passed in the 1992 Earth Summit, a modified and upgraded version called the Rio Convention was passed.
