2x+4y=7 ----(1)
change the equation into
x/a+y/b =1 form---(2)
here a is x- intercept, b= y- intercept
divide each term with 7 in equation (1)
2x/7+4y/7=7/7
2x/7+ 4y/7= 1
x/(7/2) + y/(7/4)=1
compare with (2)
a=7/2 and b= 7/4
the line intersect x-axis at (7/2,0) and y-axis at (0,b)=(0,7/4)
