We have,

  • To figure out rate at which a certain sum of money becomes triple of itself after 15 years.

Here,

 \bf{Amount = 3 \times Principal}   \: = 3P

\bf{Interest = Amount - Principal} \\  \bf \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \to \:  \:  \:  I = \: 3P - P   \:  \:   = 2P

We know,

 \rm{}Rate =  \frac{100 \times Interest}{Principal \times  Time}  \\  \\  \bf  \mapsto \frac{100 \times 2P}{P \times 15}  \\  \\  \bf \to \:  \frac{200 \cancel{P}}{15\cancel{P}}  \:  =  \red{13.34}

Hence,

  • At 13.34 %, a sum of money becomes triple of itself after 15 years.

Important Formulae :

  •  \small \tt  I =  \frac{ P \times R  \times T }{100}

  •  \small \tt  A =  P + \frac{ P \times R  \times T }{100}

  •  \small \tt  P =  \frac{ I \times 100 }{R  \times T}

  • \small \tt  R =  \frac{ I \times 100 }{P \times T}

  • \small \tt  T =  \frac{ I \times 100 }{R  \times P}
