 <marquee = right> Hii Friend!! </marquee>
iron having atomic number 26. It has two electrons in its 4s orbital and 6 electrons in its 4d orbital. ... Since, Iron is a d-block element, so it shows variable oxidation state. Hence, it can show valency of 2 as well as 3.

in first orbit no. of electrons is 2
in second orbit 8
third orbit 18
their addition is 28
atomic no. of iron is 26
2 electrons are required to complete orbit.
so the valency of iron is 2.
in some atoms the valency of iron is 3.
i hope it will help you.
