atoms r stable due to electrons because they neutralise the overall charge on the nucleus which contains protons.the number of electrons r always equal to the number of protons in a neutral atom.if there r more or less electrons in a atom than that atom is called an ion....

Answer:
- Atoms are made up of not only electrons but neutrons and protons too.
- The "nucleus of an atom" contains both neutrons and protons.
- The "electrons keep on revolving around" them and an atom remains stable because of this.
- For an atom to remain stable the "number of electrons" should be equal to "the number of protons".
- If this balance deviates the atom becomes unstable or we can say it converts into an ion.
