Answer:
The critical appreciation of the last duchess is full of descriptions of the narrator Duke of Ferrara late wife's portrait painting, throughout the poem it has lots of descriptors such as, "Paint must never hope to reproduce the faint half-flush that dies along her throat." this technique is called Ekphrasis it is the detailed description of of a work of art in a literary stand point. Through out the poem we get an insight on the Dukes opinion of his wife, through this it emphasized how he sees his wife is a possession more than a human being wanting to "tame" her, "Notice Neptune, though, Taming a sea-horse, thought a rarity," he talks about her like she is an art piece. The poem itself is a dramatic monologue, the narrator shows his arrogance and selfishness throughout tying into the ideas of him thinking his wife is a possession more than she is a human being. "Too easily impressed; she liked whate’er , She looked on, and her looks went everywhere." would be an example of is arrogance as a narrator
