The LCM need to be found here as it is asked about the minimum distance
40 = 2 * 2* 5 *2
42= 2*3*7
45=3*3*5

LCM= 2520

The minimum distance to cover is 2520 cm.

Given:

Atul, Ravi and Tarun footsteps measure 40 cm, 42 cm and 45 cm

To find:

Minimum distance walked by each person to cover the same distance

Answer:

To find minimum distance of each persons, we have to take LCM

Given that,

Atul, Ravi, and Tarun steps measure 40 cm, 42 cm and 45 cm respectively.

LCM of 40, 42, and 45 is

LCM of 40= 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 5

LCM of 42=2 \times 3 \times 7

LCM of 45=5 \times 5 \times 3

LCM (40, 42, 45) =2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 5 \times 3 \times 7 \times 3

LCM (40, 42, 45) =2520

Minimum distance of each person should walk is 2520m.
