Solution,

Let the age of man be x yrs. and his son be y yrs.

Now,

(x+y)/2 = 27

x+y = 54

Also

x/y = 8/1

x = 8y

Substituing the value of x in above equation

8y+y = 54

9y = 54

y = 6

So, the age of son after 6 years

y+6 = 6+6 = 12 years.

Hence, the age of son after 6 years is 12 years.
