let the nos. be x1 x2....

... x6

now (x1+x2..... x6) /6= 8

x1+x2..... x6= 48

let x7 be added to make the average 9

now (x1+x2...... x7) /7=9

x1+x2.... x7=63

as x1+x2..... x6=48

therefore 48 + x7 =63

x7 = 63-48

x7 = 15

therefore the no. added is 15
