Let price of a pen = p
So,
30 × p+ 75 × 2 = 510
30 p= 510 – 150
30p = 360
p =360/30


p = 12

let the cost of one pen be x rupees.
cost of 30 pens = 30x

cost of one pencil is RS.2
then,
cost of 75 pencil = 75*2= RS.150

Now,
total price of 30 pens and 75 pencils= 510
then ,

Cost of 30 pens + cost of 75 pencils= 510
30x + 150= 510
30x = 510- 150
30x = 360

therefore,
X= 360/30
X= 12

hence the average cost of the pen will be Rs.12
