Mahendra can do a part of work in 1 hour =$\frac{1}{10}$

So, they can do a part of work together in 1 hour = $\frac{1}{8} +\frac{1}{10}=\frac{9}{40}$

So, Time taken by both to complete work = $\frac{40}{9}=4.44 hours$

Hence it should take 4.44 hours for both Baban and Mahendra, working together but independently, to do the same job
