answer : option (d) law of conservation of mass or matter.

explanation : according to Lavoisier's law of conservation of mass, The mass of an isolated is neither created nor destroyed just it can be converted one from to another.

a chemical equation is balanced by using this principle.

for balanced chemical equation.

mass of products = mass of reactants.

for instance,

CH4 + 2O2 ⇔CO2 + 2H2O

here, mass of reactants = mass of CH4 + mass of 2O2

= (12 + 4 × 1) + 2(16 × 2)

= 16 + 64

= 80g

mass of products = mass of CO2 + mass of 2H2O

= (12 + 2 × 16) + 2(2 × 1 + 16)

= 44 + 36

= 80g

hence, mass of reactants = mass of products

so, above chemical equation is balanced.
