⇒ax(cos2θ+sin2θ)=(a2−b2)cos3θ

⇒ax=(a2−b2)cos3θ

Putting value of ax, we get,

by=(a2−b2)sin3θ

∴(ax)23+(by)23=((a2−b2)cos3θ)23+((a2−b2)sin3θ)23

=(a2−b2)23(cos2θ+sin2θ)

=(a2−b2)23

∴(ax)23+(by)23=(a2−b2)23
