Bats can fly, but still, they are placed in mammals.The reason for this is that not all the organisms who fly are oviparous. Though bats can fly, they are viviparous in nature. They do not lay eggs and their live young ones develop inside body of parent. They also possess mammary glands for feeding their young ones.

All the animals which fly are not birds.Bat do not lay egg , they produce their own ones like mammals thats why they are called mammals..
