Evaluation of the scheme. The MDM scheme has many potential benefits: attracting children from disadvantaged sections (especially girls, Dalits and Adivasis) to school, improving regularity, nutritional benefits, socialisation benefitsand benefits to women are some that have been highlighted.

Midday meal is scheme introduced by the government in order to provide food to all the poor and children with malnutrition. It provides lunches to the food less children in government schools all over India. It provides the right amount of food for a poor child's overall growth. It not only lessens the bulk of making food for all members in a 'below the poverty' family but also provides the happiness to the children through food. The meals are eaten by millions of children in India. This ensures their good health because these poor children are also the part of a successful nation. If they stay healthy, so will the nation leading to its prosperity overall. Thus it can be taken as a successful scheme by the government.
