• Benzyl alcohol is aromatic alcohol in which $-CH_2OH$ attached to benzene ring and Benzoic acid is aromatic carboxylic acid in which$-COOH$ group attached to benzene ring.

• For conversion, we have to convert  $CH_2OH$  to $COOH$  functional group. We can use Potassium permanganate ( $KMnO_4$) or Potassium dichromate ($K_2Cr_2O_7$) in acidic medium to oxidize the alcoholic group.
