Bile juice is present in the liver. It does not contain any enzymes. But it is important for digestion. It contains bile pigments such as bilirubin(yellow pigment) and biliverdin(green pigment) .They break the large fat globules into small globules. Then only, pancreatic enzymes produced from pancreatic juice which is present in pancreas can act easily on them. This process is known as emulsification.
It also makes the food alkaline for the action of pancreatic enzymes and intestinal enzymes in the small intestine.
So, it plays an important role in digestion though it does not have any enzymes.

hope it helps

Though bile juice do not have any enzyme but it is important for digestion....due to the following reasons :

# It neutralises the acidity of HCl of Chyme ( food + HCl).

# Emulsification of fats.

# It activates lipase enzyme.

# It increases peristalsis of the intestine.

# Since bile is alkaline hence it prevents the decomposition of food from bacterial attack.

# It's salts helps in the absorption of fat and fat soluble vitamins.

The end
