2-its constituent i.e. methane has high calorific value than that of petrol
3- by using biogas , firewood is saved and deforestation is reduced
4-the spent slurry ,being rich in nitrogen and phosphorus,is a good manure
5-a biogas plant, being simple,can easily be built in rural areas
