Biological catalysts are compounds in our body that help reaction to proceed at a faster rate. For every reaction whether it is exothermic or endothermic there is an intermediate stage that has very high energy which is referred to as activation energy. Catalysts reduce these activation energy so the reaction proceeds at a faster rate.

Catalysts are usually proteins so at high temperature the proteins get denatured and they will lose there capability while at low temperature they become inactive. Biological catalysts have a narrow range of temperature for there working.
