Let Bonnie's age be 'x'

And Clyde's age be 'y'

x = y+4 --(1)

x-10 = 2(y-10)

x-10 = 2y - 20

x - 10 - 2y + 20 = 0

x +10 - 2y = 0

Sub (1) here now

y+4+10-2y = 0

-y+14 = 0

y=14

So

x=y+4

x=14+4

x=18

Let take that
___________________________

Clyde's age as x
Bonnie's age x+4

Ten years ago
Clyde's age 10-x
Bonnie's age 10-(x+4) = 10-x-4 = 6-x

here she refers to Bonnie and he is Clyde

6-x = 2(10-x)

6-x = 20-2x

6-20 = -2x+x

-14 = -x

x = 14

so

age of bonnie = x+4 = 14+4 = 18 years

age of Clyde = x = 14 years
