Bond energy (E) is defined as the amount of energy required to break apart a mole of molecules into itscomponent atoms. It is a measure of the strength of a chemical bond. Bond energy is also known as bond enthalpy(H) or simply as bond strength.

bond energy (E) or bond enthalpy (H) is the measure of bondstrength in a chemical bond. IUPACdefines bond energy as the average value of the gas-phase bonddissociation energies (usually at a temperature of 298 K) for all bonds of the same type within the same chemical species.
