Coughing while eating is called dysphagia.
When we swallow food, muscles inside the throat contract and expand continuously so that the food moves down the trachea.
During this time the diaphragm into the passage for the lungs opens and closes periodically for breathing.
When eating in a hurry, food may enter the passage to the lungs. The involuntary reflex causes irritation and a rush of air to eject the food from entering the air pipe.
So we cough suddenly and with intensity.

The reason may also be that Boojho did not chew his food properly,as he was eating hurriedly, which prevented the food from breaking into bits and hence the food did not go through the food pipe or oesophagus,and entered the vocal cord. Whenever the food enters the vocal cord, it is the immediate coughing which prevents the food from entering the vocal cord.
