Given :

Ratio of boys : girls = 11 : 10

Total no of boys = 650

To find :

No of girls = ?

Solution :

It is already given that,

boys : girls = 11 : 10

Let the no. of girls be 'X'.

Then,

650 : X = 11 : 10

ie,

$\bf\dfrac{650}{X}=\bf\dfrac{11}{10}$

650 x 10 = 11 X

6500 = 11 X

$\bf{X=}\bf\dfrac{6500}{11}$

X = 590.9090909090909

But no of girls cannot be a decimal.

So removing decimal into near no. we get,

590 or 591.

X = 590 or 591.

No. of girls = 590 or 591.

Verification :

Boys : girls = 11 : 10

No. of boys is already given as 650.

we find that ,

No. of girls = 590 or 591.

1st case

So 11 : 10 must be equal to ,

650 : 590

ie,

$\bf\dfrac{11}{10}=\bf\dfrac{650}{590}$

11 x 590 = 10 x 650
