In India people elect their representative through direct and indirect election.
Direct election:
the citizens themselves elect their representatives through votes. Members of look sabha are elected in this manner.
Indirect election:
the citizens do not directly take part in the election. the elected representatives are the voters here. the members of raiya sabha ,the President and vice President are elected in this manner
