Briefly describe the two boys' early life and upbringing ?

The two boys of Verona, belongs to a family having her mother, father and a sister.

Her father was a widow, it means that they had lost their mother at early age.

Boy's father was a singer, who earns by singing only. As the war begun, they loved their father in war and during it they also loved their home.

But after this even they don't give up and thus they fought against Germany by participating against them. The moment when they returned back from war they found that her sister is suffering from TB of spine.

The two boys and their sister lead a very comfortable and cultured life before the war. Their father, a widower, was a very popular singer.But he was killed in the early part of the war. Their house was too destroyed by a bomb.
As a result, they had to struggle a lot to survive the ill - effects of the war.
