Result of punnet square always depend on the types of cross, whether it is monohybrid cross or dihybrid cross. In monohybrid cross the results are always in 3:1 (Dominant:Recessive) and in dihybrid cross the ratio will (9:3:3:1).

Explanation:

1. Monohybrid cross carried between Tall and Dwarf pea plant:

Phenotype:- Tall × Dwarf

Genotype:-    TT × tt

Result:- Tt, Tt               (all hybrid in F1 generation)

              Tt×Tt             (selfing)

Result :- TT, Tt, Tt, tt   (F2 generation )

Monohybrid ratio:- Dominant : Recessive

                                               3: 4

2. Dihybrid cross between Round green and Wrinkled yellow

Phenotype:-  Round green   ×    wrinkled yellow

Genotype:-     RRYY               ×       rryy

Result:-            RrYy, RrYy    (all hybrid in F1 generation)

                           RrYy×RrYy   (selfing)

Gametes :- RY,Ry,rY,ry

Result:- Round green:Round yellow:wrinkled green:wrinkled green

                           RY:Ry:rY:ry

                              9:3:3:1
