According to question,

S.P. of 24 m = C.P. of 24 m + S.P of 8 m

=> S.P. of 16 m = C.P. of  24 m

= Rs. 24

Now,

Gain% = [(24 - 16)/16] * 100

           = (8/16) * 100

           = 50%
