Hope u like my process
=====================
Let the selling price of 1 greeting card be Rs x.

So, selling price of 35 cards = Rs 35x.

By selling those greeting cards, he had a loss of an amount equal to the S. P. of 5 greeting cards i.e. = Rs 5x.

So, loss = Rs 5x.

Now as we know that,

Percent = (amount taken / total )×100

So,
Loss percent =
 \frac{loss}{total  \:  \: cost}  \times 100 \\  \\   =  \frac{5x}{35x}   \times 100 =  \frac{100}{7}\%  \\  \\  = 14.28\%

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let SP of 1 greeting card = Rs.1

SP of 35 greeting cards = Rs. 1×35=Rs. 35

Loss=SP of 5 greeting cards

= Rs. 1×5= Rs. 5

Hence, CP of 35 greeting cards = SP+Loss

= Rs(35+5) =Rs.40

Loss%= Loss

--------- × 100

CP

= 5

------- × 100

40

= 25
