Let the SP of 1 pencil be ₹x.

SP of 8 dozen pencils = ₹x * 96

= ₹96x

Profit = SP of 1 dozen pencils

= ₹12x

CP = SP - profit

= ₹96x - ₹12x

= ₹84x

Profit % = profit/CP × 100

= (₹12x /₹84x ) × 100

= 100/7

= 14.285

Ans. = The person had a profit of 14.285%.

Hope it helps!!!

ritikdagar1: no how does you know that it is 98
