By using division algorithm find the largest number which when divid 969 and 2059 the remainder obtained are 9 and 11 respectively ..
pls anyone tell me the answer

969 and 2059 when divided by a no. leaves remainder 9 and 11 respectively ,

∴ After subtracting the remainders we get 960 and 2048.

H.C.F.(2048,960)

a= 2048

b= 960

Now,

2048 = 960 x 2 + 128

960 = 128 x 7 + 64

128 = 64 x 2 + 0

∴ H.C.F.(2048,960) = 64

∴ The largest no. which when divides 969 and 2059 and leaves remainder 9 and 11 is 64.
