It is quite true; Caesar paid very dearly for his arrogance and ambition. After analyzing the play we come to the conclusion the rumor about Caesar’s being ambitious was groundless and biased. Antony proved with facts Caesar was not ambitious. There is no doubt about Caesar’s arrogance; but he was arrogant rightly. He was a decisive and just leader. He could not tolerate corruption and injustice. The conspirators felt Caesar could punish them too for their misdeeds.

Caesar became victim of the jealousy and animosity of Cassius and other conspirators who were against him for personal reasons. He was assassinated by the Cassius led faction that was against him. This faction did not want him to become the Roman King. Cassius hatched a conspiracy against him in which he convinced the fellow conspirators that he was an ambitious person and did not deserve to become the King. So they made a cunning plot and stabbed him to death.

Caesar was a mighty warrior, a respected and love leader. He brought many laurels to Rome but he was arrogant and ambitious for which he paid by with his life. He referred to the senators as grey beards. he didn't reconsider the enfranchisement of pubilius cimber and called himself fixed as the northern star. His arrogance made Brutus believe that he was ambitious and all the senators decided to execute him.
