When an ant bites, it injects this formic acid into the skin. This causes pain. Calamine solutioncontains zinc carbonate which is a base. Calamine solution neutralise the effect of acid of ant bite whenapplied on the skin.

Calamine solution which is basic in nature is applied on the skin when an ant bites . As the sting of ant contains formic acid .That's why we use it for neutralization
