The formula unit mass of an ionic compound is the sum total mass of ions in one formula unit of that compound.

In Nacl the ions are sodium and chloride ions, so the sum of masses of two ions give the formula unit mass.

\bold{NaCl  = 23u + 35.5u = 58.5u }

Now in case of calcium chloride it has two ions calcium ions and chloride ions.

Then formula unit mass is :-
