Calculate the freezing point of a solution containing 8.1 g of HBr in 100 g of water, assuming the acid to be 90 % ionized.
[Given: Molar mass Br = 80 g/mol, Kf water = 1.86 K kg / mol]

i=1-α+nα

Where n=2


i=1+α


ΔTf=ikfm


α=0.90


ΔTf=(1+α)1.86x 8.1/81  x1000/100


ΔTf=3.53


Tf°=o⁰ c


Tf=Tf⁰ –Tf


Tf=0-3.53


Freezing point =Tf = - 3.53⁰c
