HOLA friend!!
Rajdeep here....
Atomic mass of Sulphur (S) = 32.
Molecular or atomic mass of Iron = 56
Molecular mass of Iron pyrites (FeS₂) = 56 + (2x32)
= 56 + 64
=120g
Now, use simple unitary method.
Mass of sulphur in 120g FeS₂ = 64g
Mass of sulphur in 1g FeS₂ = 64/120g
Hence, mass of sulphur in 30g of FeS₂:
[tex] \frac{64\times30}{120} \\= \frac{1920}{120} \\= 16[/tex]
hence, 16g sulphur is present in 30g of Iron pyrites.
Thanks!!
